Whitney Cummings (born September 4, 1982) is an American stand-up comedian, actress, writer, producer, director, and podcast host. Raised in Washington, D.C., she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and began her comedy career in Los Angeles. Cummings gained recognition as a regular roundtable guest on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” and quickly became known for her fearless observational humor and sharp wit.
Cummings created and starred in the NBC sitcom “Whitney” and co-created the Emmy-nominated CBS series “2 Broke Girls.” Her directorial film debut came with “The Female Brain” (2017), which she also co-wrote and starred in, and she has appeared in numerous other TV and film projects. As a stand-up, Cummings has released six acclaimed specials, including “Money Shot,” “I Love You,” “I’m Your Girlfriend,” “Can I Touch It?,” “Jokes,” and “Mouthy.”
She launched the hit interview podcast “Good For You” in 2019, where she hosts candid and hilarious conversations with a wide range of celebrities and experts. Known for addressing topics including relationships, mental health, and pop culture, Whitney Cummings remains a prominent and influential force in comedy, both on stage and behind the scenes.
